SAVOR, Formerly Blue Ridge Wine and Food Festival, Returns to Blowing Rock April 20-23

SAVOR Blowing Rock returns to North Carolina’s Prettiest Small Town from Thursday, April 20 through Sunday, April 23. The 2017 edition of SAVOR Blowing Rock includes an expanded range of seminars and events that feature regional culture, music, craft beers from local breweries and across the state, beverage tastings and dinners that showcase the town’s culinary artistry.

Seminars and cooking classes take place frequently on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and cover topics that range from beer and wine pairing to North Carolina bitters and spirits to grilling. Blowing Rock Art & History Museum joins the fun daily with events centered on art, culture and regional culinary history…all during one of the most beautiful months in the High Country.

In addition to the Grand Tasting downtown, again this year, there are two Reserve Tastings on Saturday, featuring high-end wines poured in a relaxed, seated setting. On Sunday, SAVOR closes by playing host to the High South Wedding Expo. For complete information on all events, visit savorblowingrock.com.

Billie Rogers, Events Director at the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce, has been overseeing the expansion of SAVOR and its varied offerings. “We have some really interesting products coming out of North Carolina now, including Spur Vodka, made from Muscadine grapes, and Crude Bitters with flavors like rosemary, grapefruit and peppercorn, orange and fig, or coffee and cocoa.”, Rogers said.

SAVOR Blowing Rock is produced by the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce and takes place during the statewide Beer Month when local restaurants feature beers from across the state along with local craft brews. For more on Beer Month activities in Blowing Rock, go to blowingrock.com/ncbeermonth.
