SAVOR Blowing Rock Hits the High Country This Weekend, Continues Until Sunday, Apr. 23

SAVOR Blowing Rock returns for another year in the High Country, bringing seminars, wines and beers, foods and a variety of cultures, music and so much more from Thursday, Apr. 20 – Sunday, Apr. 23 in downtown Blowing Rock. Whether it’s learning about Jack Daniels being created in Lynchburg or being able to experience local restaurants and craft beers, SAVOR brings with it a fantastic time that will be remembered.

There are going to be approximately 60 vendors at the event, selling both food-related objects and alcohol products. However, there are only about 20 that are selling only food products. All vendors have to have products that are related somewhat to food and drink. For example, one company Lip Sense is selling lipstick that doesn’t come off on wine glasses or when you eat.

In those 20 vendors, there are about 11 of them who are coming from farmers’ markets. While they won’t have products such as onions, tomatoes and other vegetables from their gardens, they will be selling jams, jellies, pickled vegetables, breads, chocolates, cheeses and other homemade foods.

It is expected for anywhere between 1200 and 1600 people to show up to the event, so the vendors are going to be getting their businesses out there. However, with so many people comes a great need for volunteers. It takes about 100 volunteers to make this festival run smoothly and effectively. There needs to be at least one volunteer at all of the cooking classes and seminars, which amount to about 16 events, and there needs to be even more at the larger events that are being put on. The Blowing Rock Chamber is still looking for about 12 volunteers to help them out with the festival, and your effort is greatly appreciated! Call 828-295-7851 for volunteering opportunities

Tickets can be purchased for separate events, and you can do so online here or you can call 828-295-7851.

Below is the complete schedule of events that will be taking place during SAVOR, from Thursday until Sunday. For more in depth descriptions of the events, visit the website
