SATURDAY: The Watauga County Arts Council 2nd Saturday Celebration of the Arts Brings Talented Arts to the Community

The Watauga County Arts Council’s 2nd Saturday Celebration of the Arts will be returning to the High Country this Saturday, July 8, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., for a wonderful evening that nobody in our community will want to miss. The event takes place at 377 Shadowline Dr.

For the first time in WCAC history, there will not only be just one juried exhibitions in one month, but two. Come out on this Saturday to find out who won prizes for their beautiful and stunning work.

Along with this, there will also be the chance to watch the real, life Arty Party in action as Raney Rogers leads a class through painting a gorgeous painting of none other than our very own Grandfather Mountain.

There is also a very exciting project that WCAC is sponsoring — a River Cruise from Paris to Normandy and filled with arts and art experiences. You can learn all about it tomorrow.

In between all of these events, you can also enjoy watching Kathleen Bartemes creating Beautiful Batiks. If you sign up for her workshop staring on July 11, you too can do the same. Not only can you watch Bartemes create, but you can observe Bill Baldwin as he carves quaint figures from wood.

Don’t worry, there will also be plenty of other things to do as well, as WCAC is the host of many other wonderful activities and opportunity for all ages.
