S.N.I.P.S. of Watauga Humane Society’s 3rd Annual “Everything but the Kitchen Sink” Sale Is March 17

The expression “everything but the kitchen sink” was popularized in World War II, during the naval bombardments in the South Pacific. The US Navy, intent on winning sea battles, threw “everything but the kitchen sink” at the enemy. In sponsoring and raising funds through the 3rd Annual “Everything but the Kitchen Sink” sale, the S.N.I.P.S. (Spay Neuter Is a Positive Solution) Committee of Watauga Humane Society (W.H.S.) is fighting a battle, as well, against the formidable enemies of animal suffering, overpopulation, homelessness, and euthanasia. With public support, it’s a war that can be won.

Come shop for the cause on Saturday, March 17th, from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., at Boone United Methodist Church (in the Family Life Center), at 471 New Market Blvd., when S.N.I.P.S. troops and strategists will throw “everything but the kitchen sink” at you at this annual sales extravaganza!

Included in the huge inventory of multifarious items large and small, common and unique, useful and ornamental, will be baskets and bowls; boots and boot trays; caps and hats; children’s toys, including a rocking horse, a child’s porcelain tea set circa 1950, and many other treasures from childhoods past; coffee table and animal-themed books; crockery and pottery; desks and chairs; end tables and magazine racks, fine and costume jewelry; garden accessories and tools; glassware and cookware; headboards and footboards; kitchen and end tables; lamps and shades; linens, pillows and throws including a brand new Ikea comforter cover; microwaves and mixers; music and movies; an Oreck upright vacuum cleaner; pet essentials and accessories; pictures, paintings and wormy chestnut frames of all sizes; saws, blades and bicycle pumps; small appliances in good working order; sofas and couches; rockers and footstools, and who knows – maybe even a kitchen sink. The prices are rock bottom, and if you don’t find what you need, you’ll certainly find what you want!

All proceeds support S.N.I.P.S. low cost spay/neuter services for high country pets through Watauga Humane Society and ASPCA Spay Neuter Alliance of Asheville, NC.

Don’t miss this opportunity to help S.N.I.P.S. win the battle against suffering, neglect and abandonment, so that the animal kingdom is peaceable, the animal shelters are empty, and every pet is a wanted pet. Last year, 496 animals were spayed or neutered through S.N.I.P.S./W.H.S. programs at a cost of only $10 to their owners, which included a rabies shot.

For more information about low-cost spay neuter for your pet, call Watauga Humane Society at 828-264-7865 and ask for the “S.N.I.P.S. $10 Special,” which is ongoing while funds last. Beginning in February, male cats are being neutered locally, through a pilot program established by S.N.I.P.S. with local veterinarians.
