The Rotary Club of Blowing Rock awarded two $2,500 scholarships to Watauga students earlier this week. Chuck Canady, the Vocational Services Chair and President-Nominee of the club presented the scholarships.
He presented one $2,500 scholarship to Grace Plyler. Grace will be attending UNC Chapel Hill in the fall and her course of study will be in Future-Ready Core.
He presented the other $2,500 scholarship to Austin Lubkemann who will be attending Appalachian State and plans to become a medical doctor.
Chuck said “All of us at Blowing Rock Rotary are honored to present these scholarships each year. We are also impressed to see such talent and promise in this up and coming generation. And with the increasing cost of college we are glad to help in a small way to keep these students from incurring a burdensome debt once they graduate.”
