The Appalachian Rollergirls All-Star team faced off in a bout with Fayetteville’s Rogue Rollergirls at Skateland U.S.A. in Hickory, North Carolina on April 3.
The Rogue Rollergirls won with a score of 169 to 151. ARG public relations head Jennele Vaquera, also known as Coco Janel No. 5, said that the All-stars team played great but the Rogue Rollergirls played more aggressively which was the key to their success.
The ARG fresh meat and Boone Shiners team were both skating and non-skating officials at this bout led by NSO, Melanie Koeing also known as Turtle and SO, Scott Koeing also known as Packman.
Appalachian Rollergirls
The first home bout will be held at Holmes Convocation Center and it is a double-header. The ARG All-stars will be playing the Dominion Derby Girls and the Boone Shiners will be playing Palmetto State Rollergirls on May 1. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and the first bout starts at 2 p.m.
Tickets for this event are $8 in advance and $10 at the door for students with a college ID. General admission prices are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Vaquera said that the proceeds from this bout benefit F.A.R.M cafe.
