Aug. 1, 2013. AppalCART’s ribbon cutting to celebrate its new facility off the N.C. 105 Bypass takes place on Friday, Aug. 2, at 1:30 p.m.

Construction of the $5.5 million project began in 2009 and featured setbacks along the way with the initial contractor running into financial trouble. Boone-based Greene Construction was awarded the new contract to finish the project last December, and in June, AppalCART moved into the new 10,000-square-foot facility.
AppalCART Transportation Director Chris Turner expects local and state dignitaries to attend the ribbon cutting. Among those expected to attend are Secretary of NCDOT Tony Tata, Boone Mayor Loretta Clawson, ASU Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs Greg Lovins, and a representative from Watauga County and the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce.
AppalCART is located at 305 N.C. 105 Bypass. For more information, call 828-297-1300 or click to www.appalcart.com.
