Restaurateur Releases Statement on Salmonella Outbreak

By Jesse Wood

June 10, 2014. On Tuesday, Angela Kelly, owner of Proper restaurant, released a statement on the salmonella outbreak that was recently reported by the Appalachian District Health Department. Some of those who ate at the Boone restaurant on or after May 17 started to show symptons of the infection caused by the bacteria. See more on that here.

“We would like to thank the Health Department for their due diligence and continued cooperation in identifying the source of the May salmonella outbreak. It has given us the opportunity to thoroughly review our policies and procedures. As of this morning, June 10, it is our understanding that there are seven confirmed cases of salmonella. Please let us emphasize that if you have any questions or concerns please contact the Health Department.

We are also available if you would like to contact us at 828-865-5000. Although the Health Department has yet to determine the cause or underlying factors contributing to this incident, we are hopeful this remains to be an isolated case and has already been or will be quickly concluded. We would also like to send our heartfelt appreciation to all of our loyal customers who continue to support us at this time.”
