Register for Watauga Parks and Recreation Fall Sports and Clinics for Youth and Adults

Register now for upcoming fall youth and adult sports leagues, clinics and programs hosted by the Watauga County Parks and Recreation department. Read below for details on each athletic event.

ADULT SOFTBALL

Register before Aug. 3

Watauga County Parks and Recreation is currently accepting team registration for Fall League Adult Softball. The Recreation department offers Co-ed Softball and two levels of Men’s Open softball during the fall season. Co-ed teams must play with equal number of males and females on the field or more women than men. The entry fee is $350 per team and all teams are guaranteed 11 games. Games will be played Monday – Friday with start times ranging from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Play will begin the week of August 10. Space is limited. Registration deadline is 5:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2015 or the first 11 paid registrations per league to register. YOUTH SOCCER

Register before Aug. 9

Watauga County Parks and Recreation is currently accepting registration for youth soccer. The youth soccer program is offered to children ages 5 – 15 (age determined as of August 31, 2013). Six levels of play are offered based on age: U-6, U-8, U-10, U-12, U-15. Whenever possible, teams are formed by geographical location (except for U-15). Separate boys and girls leagues are created when sufficient numbers exist in any age group. If numbers do not allow for separate leagues, the leagues will be co-ed. Teams meet an average of 3 times per week including 2 games each week. All participants are required to wear shin guards and team colored soccer socks. The recreation department will provide each child with a team jersey which is his/hers to keep at the end of the season. Soccer cleats are not required but are highly recommended. The registration fee is $33 per participant and must be submitted with the registration application and birth certificate. All participants must be registered with Watauga County Parks and Recreation no later then 5:00 pm on Friday, August 9, 2013. LACROSSE

Register before Aug. 21

Watauga County Parks and Recreation is currently accepting registration for Youth Lacrosse Clinics. Separate clinics are being offered for both male and female children in 3rd—12th grades. The clinics will be held at Watauga High School’s Lacrosse Field on Sundays, beginning Sunday, August 23. The program will run 6 – 8 weeks. The registration fee of $30 must be submitted with the registration form to Watauga County Parks and Recreation office no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, August 21. However, space is limited. SOCCER OFFICIATING CLINIC

Register before Aug. 28

Watauga County Parks and Recreation is currently accepting registration for the Soccer Officiating Clinic. The clinic will be held Saturday, August 29 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, August 30 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the Optimist Clubhouse in Boone. Both days of the clinic and scrimmage games are required for those who wish to officiate youth soccer for Watauga County Parks and Recreation. The registration fee is $25 per person, which includes a rulebook, class materials, officiating shirt, warning cards, and lunch on Saturday. Pre-registration for the clinic is required. CO-ED VOLLEYBALL

Register before Sept. 14

Watauga County Parks and Recreation is currently accepting team registration for Adult Co-Ed Volleyball. The program begins in late September and runs for 6 to 8 weeks. Each team will play an average of 2 – 3 matches per week. A match will consist of three games. All teams will be guaranteed 12 matches. Games are played weekday evenings (starts time between 6:00 pm and 9:30 pm). Participants must be 16 years of age or older and must be residents of Watauga County. Teams must play with equal number of males and females on the court, or more women than men. The registration fee of $250 per team must be submitted to Watauga County Parks and Recreation along with the completed registration form no later then 5:00 pm on Monday, September 14, 2015.
