Redleg Husky and The Honey Chasers to Take the Stage at Murphy’s on Saturday Night

Americana/roots trio Redleg Husky will bring its unique blend of boot-stompin’ folk to Murphy’s on Saturday and will be joined on stage by bluegrass quartet the Honey Chasers. The show begins at 9 p.m. with a $5 cover.

Redleg Husky is an acoustic roots trio based in Asheville, North Carolina. Since its inception in 2012, the band has been performing its unique blend of music at barrooms, theaters and festivals throughout the Southeast and beyond. The group has released two recordings in that time: a self-titled 2013 EP and a full-length debut, Carolina, which was recorded at Wild Chorus Studios in Knoxville, Tennessee by Scott Minor and released in 2014.

Redleg Husky features songwriting and vocals from guitarists Misa Giroux and Tim McWilliams, who also play mandolin and banjo, respectively. Since June 2015, the group’s sound has been filled out by Son Haus on bass. The trio is planning on returning to the studio in October 2015 to record its second full-length album, My Old Heart.

Cutting edge bluegrass quartet based out of Johnson City, Tennessee, The Honey Chasers is a taking the eastern bluegrass drive and flavor and combining it with original songs and ideas to create a Modern Appalachian Sound.  Featuring three graduates of East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music program, this group is composed of: Cameron Owens (mandolin/vocals/songwriting), Meade Richter (fiddle/electric fiddle/harmony), Jeff Ingersoll (guitar/harmony), and Zachary Smith (upright bass).
