Aug. 29, 2014. Watauga County Schools Supt. Dr. Scott Elliott and Parkway School staff cool off on a hot Friday before Labor Day weekend.
WCS spokesman Marshall Ashcraft noted that staff upped the ante on the ALS bucket challenge with the help of the Deep Gap Volunteer Fire Department. In the images below, see Elliott done a fireman’s hat and douse Parkway School staff with a fire hose.
“Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord,” according to the ALS Association’s website.
