Rain, Thunder and Lightning is No Match for Boone’s Love of Country Music Like Chris Land Band and The Band Perry

by Mariel Gambino

July 8, 2013. Pouring rain, thunder and lightning could not stop concertgoers from witnessing the energy and excitement that Chris Lane Band and The Band Perry brought to Kid Brewer Stadium on Saturday night, July 6.

At around 7:30 p.m. the Chris Lane Band (CLB) opened with the show with a set of fun, refreshing songs that ranged from old hits like “Let’s Ride” to covers of Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys and a new song called “Dance With Me”.

No later than a few minutes after CLB left the stage, the sky opened up in a downpour on fans. Attendees either took shelter inside Kid Brewer Stadium or were given the option to go to their cars and be let back into the stadium with their tickets.

Despite the rain, many fans stuck it out to enjoy The Band Perry. They played classics such as “If I Die Young”, Done and a rendition of “Fat Bottomed Girls” by Queen.

After a show that buzzed with excitement, screaming fans and wise words from lead singer Kimberly Perry, the band closed with an electric version of “Better Dig Two”.

After The Band Perry exited the stage, the sky to the left of the stage erupted into a series of brilliant fireworks that lit up the sky behind Kid Brewer Stadium.
