Police, Medics Respond To Medical Emergency, 22 Year Old Dies at West King Street Residence

On Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, just after 12:15 p.m., Boone Police responded with Watauga Medics to 1552 West King Street in reference to a male suffering a medical emergency. First arriving units determined the male was deceased.

Boone Police Department Investigators responded to the scene and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances of the death. The decedent, Caleb Lance Johnson, 22, was transferred to the custody of the medical examiner for an autopsy and toxicological testing.

The cause of death remains undetermined pending results of the autopsy and testing. There are no indications of foul play.

Caleb Lance Johnson, age 22, of 212 Park Road, Banner Elk, the Foscoe Community, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015.

Caleb is survived by his father, Buck Johnson and his companion, Betsy Crisco and her daughter Megan, all of Newland, and one brother, Seth Johnson of Banner Elk. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, including David and Lucy Shook of the Foscoe Community, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Shook Johnson.

Funeral arrangements for Caleb Lance Johnson are incomplete at this time.
