Plemmons Student Union To Serve as Campus Early Voting Location in General Election

Watauga County Board of Elections Director Matt Snyder confirmed that early voting for the general election will take place at the Plemmons Student Union. Snyder said that his office received notification from Appalachian State University on Tuesday afternoon.

Last week, the State Board of Elections directed the the Watauga County Board of Elections to secure Legends site for early voting within five days or the site reverts to the Plemmons Student Union. The deadline was 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Republican board members Bill Aceto and Nancy Owen favored Legends, while Democrat Stella Anderson favored Plemmons Student Union.

Now, the early voting plan is official for Watauga County. Below is a listing of hours and locations of early voting sites for Watauga County. For more background and stories on the Watauga County Board of Elections, click here. 

Early Voting Dates, Locations for Watauga

Administration Building at 814 West King Street:

  • 20 to 21: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 24 to 28: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 31 to Nov. 4: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 5: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Blowing Rock Town Hall, Deep Gap FD, Meat Camp FD, Western Watauga Community Center & App State (Plemmons Student Union):

  • Oct. 27 to 28: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Oct. 31 to Nov. 4: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
