
Dec. 10, 2012. Hundreds turned out for the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce/Town of Banner Elk family-oriented holiday parade and celebration on Friday, Dec. 7.
The event kicked off with a nighttime parade of lights in downtown Banner Elk at 6 p.m. The festivities then moved to Tate-Evans Park, where children got to tell Santa their special holiday wishes, as pictured above.
The event also featured the North Pole Express Train Ride, more than 800 luminaries, Christmas tree and ceremonial menorah-lighting, the Alpacas from Apple Hill Farm as well as free refreshments. The event begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.
