Sponsored by the Blowing Rock Historical Society, Jerry Burns Day was celebrated on Saturday, June 18, with Betty Pitts, Susie Greene and Lynn Lawrence all reminiscing on growing up in Blowing Rock.

Jerry Burns, who died six years ago, was born on June 18 in 1940. He was a lifelong resident of Blowing Rock and was the editor (and everything else) at The Blowing Rocket for more than four decades until he retired in 2009.

He was known as Mr. Blowing Rock.
