Parts of Boone Shut Down On Aug. 4 for Cyclo.via Presented by Boone Area Cyclists; Photos Included!

by Madison V. Fisler

Aug. 6, 2013. Parts of downtown Boone were shut down tight on Sunday, Aug. 4 for the third annual Boone Cyclo.via, presented by the Boone Area Cyclists.

The event closed down parts of Howard Street, Depot Street and Rivers Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to all motorized vehicles, but all bicycles and other “human-powered” methods of transportation were welcome, allowing cyclists, skateboarders, walkers and much more to take to the streets and enjoy a day of recreation outdoors without having to worry about cars crashing the party.

Featured this year was the Freestyle Connection BMX Show, the Tri-Force competitive jump rope team, Zumba, an adult trike race, EYA! Affrolachian Drum and Dance, a kid’s bike rally and much more.

Did you miss out on the fun? As always, we’ve got the photos to show you what you missed!
