A festive wonderland of bright colors lit up the dark sky and traveled through the town of Banner Elk on Saturday during the community’s annual nighttime Parade of Lights. The streets came to life at nightfall as folks bundled up to line the walkways and watch the parade make its way through town.
The Parade of Lights has become one of the High Country’s most unique and popular holiday traditions. Glowing twinkle lights and luminaries brightened up the evening fun and provided the perfect segue into Banner Elk’s Small Town Christmas Celebration, leading Santa Claus right to the spot where local kids could meet and greet with him in Tate-Evans Park.
