The Watauga County Arts Council will partner with sudents from an Appalachian State fundraising class to host a “Paint and Pint” event on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at Lost Province Brewing Company on Depot Street in downtown Boone.
The event will serve as a fundraiser for the arts council’s workshop scholarship fund and will be held in the brewery’s upper balcony. Paint and Pint will feature live painting by local artists, a raffle of items donated by local businesses and live acoustic music, as well as and light snacks provided by Lost Province.
Tickets will be $7 in advance or $10 at the door. Purchase tickets now by visiting the WCAC online at www.watauga-arts.org or visit the arts council on Facebook.
They can also be purchased at the Blue Ridge ArtSpace, 377 Shadowline Drive, or by phone at 828-264-1789. Each ticket will be redeemable for one pint of Lost Province beer at the event.
The WCAC provides support and programming to the High Country art scene through many projects and events. Its workshop program gives people young and old a chance to experience a new art form or learn different techniques in the workshops taught by professional artists and teachers. The programs range from $30-$150.
All proceeds from Paint and Pint will go directly to the scholarship fund, which makes it possible for anyone to attend a workshop despite any financial restrictions. Individuals may apply for a full or partial scholarship that will allow them to attend any one of the numerous workshops and classes offered by the WCAC year round.
