April 4, 2013. Once again, the lineup for the summer Concerts at the Jones House is stellar. “I am definitely looking forward to this summer’s series,” said Mark Freed, cultural programs coordinator with the Town of Boone. “There will be lots of great music, some storytelling, and some poetry too.  There will be something for everyone, from jazz to country, from rock to bluegrass, from world folk sounds to contemporary songwriters. Those who love it all should plan to be in downtown Boone on Fridays.”

Freed added that the First Friday (of the month) concerts have been extended to later in the evening with an extra performer scheduled.

While the schedule is pretty much finalized, Freed said, “We have a surprise or two still under development.”

The Town of Boone presents the 2013 Concerts at the Jones House with support from season sponsors, including Downtown Boone Development Association, Mast General Store, MPrints, Stickboy Bread and Melanie’s.

Concerts take place every Friday starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Jones House Cultural and Community Center at 604 W. King St. in downtown Boone. Patrons are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to these free concerts.
