Oct. 22, 2012. The OASIS Benefit Fashion Show will be in Boone for the second time this year, this time with a masquerade theme.

The OASIS Benefit Fashion Show, presented by Haircut 101 in partnership with M.C. Adams Clothier, will be held at Char on Howard Street in Boone on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the show are $60 and are available for purchase at both Haircut 101 and M.C. Adams Clothier. Tickets include dinner, a complimentary glass of wine, the fashion show and gift bags valued at over $200 containing gift certificates, coupons, discounts and products from local businesses, according to Bishop Glover of Haircut 101.

Raffle tickets for the show will also be offered at $5 each or five for $20. The raffle prizes include an Anna Banana’s gift certificate, Appalachian Ski Mountain lift tickets, a spa treatment and a goodie basket from Chetola Resort and Spa, and a private Zumba class among others.

In addition to the regular raffle tickets, ticket holder-only raffles will be held at the show with prizes including free haircuts for one year from Haircut 101, a Bumble and bumble gift basket, free Mellow Mushroom pizza every month for one year, and others. All of the proceeds benefit OASIS (Opposing Abuse with Service, Information and Shelter), a local organization dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual abuse in Watauga County.

“In the beauty industry we work with a lot of women and we feel a responsibility to give back to the women in the community,” said Glover.

“With so much going on on a global scale, it’s important to think locally. This is a great way for businesses and the community to give back and come together to have a great time.”

OASIS provides temporary emergency shelter, counseling, referrals, case management, support groups, legal and medical advocacy and educational programs to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault in Watauga County.

Tickets for the fashion show can be purchased at Haircut 101 and M.C. Adams Clothier. Cash and checks are gladly accepted, with checks made out to Oasis Benefit Fashion Show or OBFS. Those who wish to donate without purchasing tickets can send checks to Haircut 101.
