New Music Festival To Come to Boone in June, Siren Mountain Jam To Host World-Class Women Artists

March 6, 2013. A new festival is coming to Boone in June.

The inaugural Siren Mountain Jam will take place at the High Country Fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22.

Siren Mountain JamAccording to the festivals website, “Siren Mountain Jam brings together some of the best women musicians and female-fronted bands, world-class women artists, and non-profit women’s organizations for a weekend of fun celebrating women’s contributions to the arts.”

More than a dozen musical acts and thirty artist vendors are expected to perform and set up. Also, the festival will host a “healing-arts village,” a multitude of workshops on a variety of topics and other activities that promote women’s art, causes and concerns.

In addition to on-site camping, food vendors will serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods.

While the lineup and schedule is still being compiled, confirmed artists include: Amythyst Kiah, Lisa Baldwin and Dave Haney, Melissa Reaves, Meshell Ndegeocello, Michelle Malone, The Mountain Laurels and Rising Appalachia. See descriptions and photos of the artists below.
