Need is Constant, Gratification is Instant; American Red Cross Announces Blood Drives at Locations Local to You

by Madison V. Fisler

Feb. 20, 2014. According to the American Red Cross, the need for blood donations is constant. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, and there is more demand than supply can provide. To meet the current demand, more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every single day.

There is no substitute for blood in most cases, and it is only available from living human donors. 9.2 million Americans are currently blood donors. Are you one of them?
