NCDOT to Close Portion of Skyland View Drive in Blowing Rock for 30 to 45 Days Beginning Friday

July 31, 2014. Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close Skyland View Drive at U.S. 321 in Blowing Rock beginning Monday, Aug. 4, for intersection realignment. The closure is scheduled to last between 30 and 45 days.

A signed detour will be in place during construction directing motorists to use Hill Top Way and Norwood Circle.

unnamedThis intersection realignment is part of the U.S. 321 widening project, which is designed to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow on U.S. 321 through Blowing Rock.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down, stay alert and look out for construction crews when driving through the project. The speed limit along the U.S. 321 widening project is 35 mph, and the N.C. State Highway Patrol will be monitoring that corridor for violations.

For more information about the U.S. 321 widening project, call the project information line at (828) 964-3260 on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
