Recently acquired and deployed narcotics trained K9 Deputy “Moses,” along with his handler, and other WCSO Patrol Deputies, were instrumental in the apprehension of Mr. Hicks.

During the search, narcotics detectives located methamphetamine, a meth smoking pipe, spoons with meth residue, and syringes.  Hicks was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Hicks is currently awaiting trial on previous charges of Manufacture Methamphetamine, 2 counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Meth Precursors, and Maintaining a Dwelling.

These offenses stem from a search warrant that was executed by detectives on January 5, 2012.  Hicks was currently on bail for these charges.  Due to the fact that Hicks was, again, arrested for methamphetamine prior to his court date, the presiding Judge placed Hicks under a $250,000 secured bond, which reflects his previous charges he was on bail for, and the current charges stemming from the traffic stop.

Hicks is currently being held at the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility and is scheduled to appear in District Court on August 20, 2013.
