Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $180 million if taken as an annuity or $110.2 million if taken as a lump sum. The jackpot has rolled since a player in California matched all six numbers in the Aug. 22 drawing to win the $180 million jackpot.
In the Oct. 10 Mega Millions drawing, 36,818 tickets won prizes ranging from $1 to $2,500, totaling $110,048. In Tuesday’sdrawing, 37,973 tickets won $87,744 in prizes ranging from $1 to $1,500.

A big Carolina Cash 5 win and two big instant scratch-off wins highlight a week that brought more than $20 million in prizes to lottery players across the state.
The biggest winner of the week is Rodney Starks, a Fayetteville resident who owns a cleaning service. He plans to use the $496,756 jackpot he won in the Carolina Cash 5 game to save for retirement. Starks bought five tickets, choosing his own numbers for each one, at the Short Stop on South Main Street in Hope Mills. One of the five was the only one in the state to beat odds of 1 in 575,757 to win the jackpot in the Oct. 11 drawing. {Read more}
Lavonne Burnett of Dunn called her $200,000 win in the Break the Bank game a dream come true. She purchased the lucky $5 ticket at the Food Lion on N.C. 97 East in Rocky Mount. {Read more}
The final winner of the week is Ethel Harris of Winterville, who is the most recent winner of $100,000 in the $1,000,000 Jackpot instant scratch-off game. She purchased the lucky $10 ticket at Mills Market on Mills Road in Greenville. {Read more}
Overall, instant scratch-off players in North Carolina won more than $16 million in prizes since Thursday, Oct. 9. During that time, players of draw games won $4 million in total prizes.

Saturday’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $100 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $62.1 million if taken as a lump sum. Wednesday’s Powerball drawing produced 12,043 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $200, totaling $79,997. The Saturday, Oct. 11 Powerball drawing produced 11,995 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000, totaling $85,612.
All or Nothing Report
Players in the All or Nothing game collected $280,060 in prizes this week, including 23 prizes of $500. The game’s top prize is $250,000 and drawings occur every day at approximately 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
