Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $102 million if taken as an annuity or $63.9 million if taken as a lump sum. In the Dec. 5 Mega Millions drawing, 28,422 tickets won prizes ranging from $1 to $5,000, totaling $98,098. In Tuesday’s drawing, 25,988 tickets won $93,677 in prizes ranging from $1 to $5,000.
Powerball Report
Saturday’s Powerball players have the chance to win an estimated $70 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $44.1 million if taken as a lump sum. In the Dec. 6 Powerball drawing, 11,620 tickets won prizes ranging from $4 to $20,000, totaling $93,082.Wednesday’s drawing produced 11,097 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000, totaling $76,631.

Where the Money Goes
Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.5 billion for the state. North Carolina Education Lottery net proceeds will be used this year to help pay salaries of teachers and teacher assistants, for pre-kindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, school construction and repair, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
