N.C. Lottery Weekly Winner Wrap-up: Three Tickets Win $1M Prizes Last Week; 10 $1M Prizes Up For Grabs

Nov. 18, 2014. This week brought more than $22 million in prizes to lottery players across the state. Overall, instant scratch-off players in North Carolina won more than $16 million in prizes since Thursday, Nov. 6. During that time, players of draw games won $6 million in total prizes.

Three $1 million prizes were awarded to players this week. The first went to William McCrea, a textile worker from Sampson County, who won $1 million in the lottery’s exclusive, one time MONOPOLY MILLIONARES’ CLUB™ drawing on Oct. 24.McCrea kept the lucky ticket on his dresser at home and then in his truck before discovering it 12 days later. {Read more}

When it comes to playing the lottery, Van Hill of Indian Trail and Wayne Clifton of Monroe have an understanding. The two brothers-in-law agreed that – should either one of them ever buy a lucky ticket – they’d share the prize money. A $1 million prize in the new Millionaire Jingle Bucks scratch-off game is giving them the chance to do exactly that. {Read more}

The final $1 million win of the week went to Evans Anthony of Shelby and William Anthony of Cherryville, who matched all five white balls but not the Powerball in the Nov. 8 Powerball drawing. After state and federal taxes were withheld, both men received a check for $346,002. They bought the lucky ticket at the TAS Drug on West Church Street in Cherryville. {Read more}

Carolina Cash 5 paid off in a big way for a Wilmington couple. Joseph Cobbs III, a furniture deliveryman, and his fiancé Kendra Batts, a certified nursing assistant, are still in a state of disbelief after matching all five numbers in the Nov. 9 Carolina Cash 5 drawing to win the $640,913 jackpot. The couple almost missed out on claiming their prize after the ticket was thrown away by accident. {Read more}

Mega Millions Report

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $26 million if taken as an annuity or $15.7 million if taken as a lump sum. In the Nov. 7 Mega Millions drawing, 25,122 tickets won prizes ranging from $1 to $5,000, totaling $87,016. InTuesday’s drawing, 22,614 tickets won $83,139 in prizes ranging from $1 to $5,000.

Powerball Report

Saturday’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $50 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $31.2 million if taken as a lump sum. Wednesday’s Powerball drawing produced 12,528 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $100 totaling $90,672. The Saturday, Nov. 8 Powerball drawing produced 19,965 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $1 million, totaling $1,192,340.

MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ Report

Players in the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB game collected $26,859 in prizes this week, including three prizes of $500. Friday’s top prize is $15 million if taken as an annuity or $9.1 million if taken as a lump sum. If the jackpot is won tonight, 10 additional winners across the country will be chosen to win a $1 million MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB prize.

All or Nothing Report

Players in the All or Nothing game collected $183,574 in prizes this week, including 13 prizes of $500. The game’s top prize is $250,000 and drawings occur every day at approximately 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
