Since last Thursday, players across the state scratched and matched their way to more than $24 million in prizes.
Two tickets from the April 16 Carolina Cash 5 drawing matched all five numbers to split the $754,482 jackpot, the largest in the game since January of last year. The tickets were sold at the Welcome Exxon 1-Stop in Welcome and at the Kingsway on Chapel Grove School Road in Gastonia.
Ana Hernandez of Raleigh says the $200,000 she won on a 20X The Cash lottery ticket will help her three children go to college. “When I scratched off the ticket, I knew it was a winner,” Hernandez said. “I just didn’t know how big a winner it was until the clerk told me.
