Dec. 21, 2012. Since Thursday, Dec. 13, players of N.C. Education Lottery games won more than $17.6 million in prizes with more than $11.8 million awarded to winners of instant scratch-off games. Players of North Carolina draw games Pick 3, Pick 4 and Cash 5 won more than $5.4 million in total prizes.
Players in Saturday’s Powerball drawing have the chance to win an estimated $40 million if taken as an annuity or $26.1 million if taken as a lump sum. The Wednesday, Dec. 19 drawing produced 16,839 winning tickets worth from $4 to $40,000, totaling $167,554. In the Dec. 15 drawing, 16,351 tickets won prizes from $4 to $200 for a total of $115,191.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $12 million if taken as an annuity or $9 million if taken as a lump sum. In Tuesday’s drawing, 8,858 tickets won prizes ranging from $2 to $450 and totaled $60,294. In the Friday, Dec. 14 drawing, 8,439 tickets won $59,478 in prizes ranging from $2 to $600.
