My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra to Hit the Lees-McRae College Summer Theatre Stage Starting July 13

Starting July 13, experience Ol’ Blue Eyes and his iconic classics on the Lees-McRae Summer Theatre stage with performances of My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra.

Hayes Auditorium and Broyhill Theatre will again come to life with music, “that defined a generation of Americans—the music of Frank Sinatra,” Director Michael Hannah said. “Ol’ Blue Eyes had a song for every situation and every emotion, and My Way lets our audience relive the soundtrack of a changing America from the 1930s up to the 1980s.”

My Way will take the stage July 13, 14, and 17 at 7 p.m. as well as July 14, 15, 17, and 18 at 2 p.m.

“Our four talented singers, [Timothe Bittle, Erica McGee, Thao Nguyen, and Kariana Sanchez] will showcase 60 of Sinatra’s greatest hits in a relaxed and casual atmosphere,” including favorites such as “All of Me,” “Chicago,” “I Love Paris,” and the show-title inspiration, “My Way,” Hannah said.

Created by David Grapes and Todd Olson, the musical arrangements performed by Bittle, McGee, Nguyen, and Sanchez will take audience members of all ages on a journey they will never want to forget.

“[Sinatra] started as a skinny teenaged crooner for big bands and rose to the absolute pinnacle of the entertainment world,” Hannah said. “He remains one of the most recognizable voices and faces in 20th century entertainment, and we hope you enjoy reliving his classic hits and remembering his highs and lows in My Way.”

Visitors can also enjoy artwork depicting a portrait of Frank Sinatra by local artist, Kent Paulette, in the Hayes Auditorium and Broyhill Theatre lobby as they enter to take their seats.
