“Music on the Lawn” is Back for Another Summer at The Inn at Ragged Gardens

For seven years, on each Friday from May through October, the Inn at Ragged Gardens has hosted “Music on the Lawn.” The Inn at Ragged Gardens invites you to Blowing Rock this summer to attend this favorite outdoor concert series.

On each Friday of this summer, a different band will play from 5:30 in the evening to 8:30 at night, weather permitting.

The Inn at Ragged Garden’s owner Rob Dyer is “excited about some of the returning bands and new bands” that are scheduled to perform on the lawn this summer.

Guests are asked to bring their lawn chairs to the beautifully landscaped grounds and enjoy a Friday evening of good music, food, and drink. Although pets, coolers, or outside food and beverage are not allowed into the event, guests shouldn’t worry as a cash bar and lawn menu are available throughout the duration of the concert.

Because of “Music on the Lawn’s” growth in popularity and the hundreds of both local and visitor guests anticipated to attend, guests are encouraged to arrive early to the event in order to secure a spot on the lawn.

In addition to the music, different, private non-profit organizations like the Humane Society are scheduled to come throughout the summer to the show each week to educate and inform the public about their cause.

From musical groups like Klee and Mike for the first concert on May 4 to Shelby Rae Moore Band, featured on multiple dates, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Dyer excitedly awaits the perfect mountain weather that would make for an ideal “Music on the Lawn” Friday. However, if the weather doesn’t look promising The Inn at Ragged Gardens suggests that you check their website or Facebook page before the event, as they usually post their decision as to whether or not the event will happen by 3 o’clock on the same day.

“Music on the Lawn” is a “great way to start off your evening in Blowing Rock,” says Dyer. In addition to the music at the Inn, there are more amazing restaurants nearby that can stretch the enjoyment of your night.
