t-shirt-graphic-1-300x228June 10, 2014. OASIS, Inc. (Opposing Abuse with Service, Information and Shelter), the local nonprofit organization dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault in Watauga and Avery Counties, would like to thank the generous community members and corporate sponsors who supported the 11th annual Midnight at the OASIS event on May 2 at the Meadowbrook Inn.

The event celebrated 36 years of service, information, and shelter and raised $17,000 to support those experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault in our community.

The funds raised will help OASIS sustain free and confidential shelter, crisis intervention and support services, and outreach and prevention education.

Last year, OASIS received 1,635 calls on its crisis line, served 54 survivors and their children in its shelter, and provided outreach and prevention education to over 6,000 students and community members. Together, we can break the cycle of violence in our community.
