App State Men’s and Women’s Hoops Finalizes Sun Belt Conference Game Times

Appalachian State University men’s and women’s basketball announced tipoff times for its regular-season home Sun Belt Conference games in 2016-17 on Monday.

Unlike the previous two seasons, changes have been made by the league for conference games for the upcoming season. The women will play on Thursday and Saturday, while the men will play on Saturday and Monday.

The women will tipoff at 7 p.m. on Thursday’s, while the men will also tip at 7 p.m. on Monday’s. Saturday league games will be played as a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. (women)/3:30 p.m. (men). There will be five conference doubleheaders this season.

In previously announced non-conference action, Appalachian State’s men host Warren Wilson College (Nov. 17 – 7 p.m.), Western Carolina (Dec. 3 – 3:30 p.m.), Montreat College (Dec. 11 – 2 p.m.), James Madison (Dec. 17 – 1 p.m.) and Hampton (Dec. 21 – 7 p.m.).

The Mountaineer women host College of Charleston (Nov. 27 – 2 p.m.), North Carolina A&T (Nov. 30 – noon), Radford (Dec. 4 – 2 p.m.) and UNC Asheville (Dec. 21 – 1 p.m.)

Season tickets for Appalachian State basketball can be purchased now by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 828-262-2079 or by ordering online by visiting, appstatesports.com/tickets.

The men’s basketball contest at Tennessee on Tuesday, Nov. 15 will be aired on the SEC Network at 7 p.m., while their game at NC State is slated for a 7 p.m. tip on ESPNU.

The Mountaineers will open the season at Davidson on Saturday, Nov. 12 with an 8 p.m. tip on Time Warner Cable Sports and will appear on the Raycom Sports Network. In conference play, App State at Little Rock on Feb. 6 has been set for 9 p.m. ET on the American Sports Network.

No other television arrangements for the men or the women have been finalized.
