Feb. 25, 2015. Do you want to build a snowman? With all of this snow coming down lately, many kids in the area might be wondering if everyone’s favorite snow queen, Frozen’s Elsa, might be playing a trick on the High Country. Beech Mountain is taking advantage of the winter wonderland with the Frozen Family Fun event held March 7.
The Free Frozen Family Fun event will take place starting at 10 a.m. on Beech Mountain’s Sledding Hill, and the whole family is invited. Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite “Frozen” character, and build their own Olaf snowman.
“With as big of a hit as ‘Frozen’ is, we thought it would be really fun to have a ‘Frozen’ themed event where kids could dress up and have fun in the snow,” said Sean Royall at Beech Mountain Parks and Recreation.
The staff of Beech Mountain Parks and Recreation will be giving out special prizes for the best costumes and snowpeople, so make sure to bring some great accessories to dress up your Olaf!
“Kids can dress up and build Olaf, or if they want to, Elsa or Ana or any of the other characters from ‘Frozen.’ We will be giving out ‘Frozen’-themed prizes like storybooks and playing cards and other trinkets.”
Along with the Olaf-building contest, hot chocolate will also be provided for everyone in attendance.
“When we had the snowman building contest a little while ago, we had about 80 people come out,” Royall said. “We are hoping for at least that many people to come out for this, but of course we are hoping for more.”
