M-Prints to ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ at F.A.R.M. Café on Wednesday, March 8

On Wednesday, March 8, between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. everyone is once again welcome to F.A.R.M. (Feed All Regardless of Means) Cafe at 617 West King Street for another of what is now a successful monthly event where a local business, group, or organization ‘Buys Boone Lunch’. We are very pleased that our friends at M-Prints are participating for the first time as a ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ business partner.

The monthly ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ days are similar to regular days at F.A.R.M. Cafe where guests can donate what they are able to for a great lunch. However, with M-Prints covering the cost of the meal on Wednesday, March 8, through a generous donation, each and every additional donation will be utilized by the cafe in its mission to fight food insecurity in the High Country.   So far the ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ program has raised over $5,000 for the direct mission of the Cafe representing 500 meals that can now be provided for persons experiencing food insecurity.

Stuart Mangum of M-Prints was an original member of the founding board of directors for F.A.R.M. Cafe. On Wednesday, March 8, Mangum and his employees will not only be ‘buying lunch’ but will also be serving as volunteer servers, cooks, and dishwashers working with the Cafe staff.   “Renee Boughman (executive chef of F.A.R.M. Cafe) is a great friend and her work with F.A.R.M. Cafe is something that I have been glad to support”, said Mangum, “This is a great way for the folks at M-Prints to continue to be involved with a valuable resource in our community. I would personally challenge every business in the High Country to choose organizations in the area that help build community and support them in whatever way they can.”

“We are very excited to have Stuart and the staff from M-Prints coming to help out and participate in the ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ program” said Renee, “I’m looking forward to seeing Stuart in the dishroom!”

Tommy Brown, volunteer coordinator at F.A.R.M. Cafe said of the success of ‘Buy Boone Lunch’, “After just a few of these events we are seeing that ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ is a win/win opportunity for businesses and business leaders like Stuart who understand the importance of supporting non-profit agencies such as F.A.R.M. Cafe which are such an vital part of the Boone and High Country communities.”   Brown continued, “This will be our 4th ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ event. So far 4 Forty Four Construction, Boone Drug Inc., and now M-Prints have participated.” Brown said, “We already have groups lined up into the summer to ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ and we look forward to working with more businesses and groups on what is becoming a great monthly special event for downtown Boone.”   On Wednesday, April 12, the Best Cellar of Blowing Rock will be ‘Buying Boone Lunch’ and creating a very special menu that will be served at F.A.R.M. Café.
