Sept. 23, 2013. Since Thursday, Sept. 12, more than $18.6 million was awarded to lottery players in the state of North Carolina including a Boone woman who won $20,000 (see below). During that time, more than $13.6 million was paid to players of instant scratch-off games. Players of draw games won more than $5 million in total prizes.
Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $145 million if taken as an annuity or $98.4 million if taken as a lump sum. In Tuesday’s drawing, 15,350 tickets won prizes ranging from $2 to $20,000, totaling $129,314. In the Friday, Sept. 13 drawing, 13,682 tickets won $87,004 in prizes ranging from $2 to $600.
This weekend’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $40 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $22.4 million if taken as a lump sum. The jackpot was reset after a ticket sold in South Carolina matched all six numbers and won Wednesday’s $399.4 million jackpot.
Wednesday’s drawing produced 77,291 winning tickets with prizes from $4 to $40,000 for a total of $630,210. The Saturday, Sept. 14 Powerball drawing produced 40,174 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000 totaling $274,407.
