March 17, 2014. Since Thursday, March 6, lottery players in North Carolina won more than $23.3 million in prizes. During that time, players of instant scratch-off games won more than $18.9 million. Players of draw games won more than $4.4 million in total prizes.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $353 million if taken as an annuity or $194 million if taken as a lump sum, the fifth largest in the game’s history. The jackpot has rolled since the Dec. 17 drawing which ended with two players from Georgia and California splitting the $626 million prize.
In Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, 73,331 tickets won prizes ranging from $1 to $2,000 totaling $191,020. In the March 7 drawing, 53,067 tickets won $173,060 in prizes ranging from $1 to $20,000.

Saturday’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $70 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $39.5 million if taken as a lump sum. Wednesday’s Powerball drawing produced 13,865 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $200 totaling $84,899.The Saturday, March 8 Powerball drawing produced 13,136 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $200 totaling $83,235.

Two men from Charlotte claimed $2 million prizes in the Powerball game this week. John Ames and Stephen Wright matched all five white balls in the March 1 drawing.
