“I had to look at it twice,’” recalled Danny Langford, who beat odds of 1 in 1.1 million to win the prize. “This feels absolutely fantastic. This is going to help my family quite a bit.”
Alexander Pickle is the latest player to claim a top prize in the lottery’s Jumbo Bucks game.
Shirley and Stanley Davis of Raeford enjoy playing lottery draw games as a couple. Winning $348,078 in Sunday’s Carolina Cash 5 drawing, they said, will help them enjoy retirement together.
James Derosier of Cary is the latest player to win the top prize in the 20X The Cash game.
“I went out to the car and started scratching and won $5 on the first ticket,” Meghan Lamberth said. “Then I started scratching the other one and thought I had won $150. Then I saw the three zeroes and my hand started shaking.”

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $139 million if taken as an annuity or $76.4 million if taken as a lump sum. In Tuesday’s drawing, 33,960 tickets won prizes ranging from $1 to $5,000 totaling $72,043. In the Feb. 7 drawing, 34,088 tickets won $83,406 in prizes ranging from $1 to $1,500.
Saturday’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $330 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $189 million if taken as a lump sum. Wednesday’s Powerball drawing produced 19,690 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000 totaling $134,744.The Saturday, Feb.8 Powerball drawing produced 25,320 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000 totaling $161,242.
