Local Musicians Perform at the 3rd Annual Homegrown Music Festival in the High Country on Saturday, August 12

Amantha Mill

The 3rd Annual Homegrown Music Festival sponsored by the Foscoe Ruritan Club is coming on Saturday, August 12th to the Foscoe-Grandfather Community Park. (11:00 am – 5:00 pm)

The Foscoe Ruritan Club was chartered in June 2011 by several community minded people who wanted to help others in need. Through the past six years the club has raised money by hosting special events such as the upcoming Homegrown Music Festival.

The High Country Boomers

The funds raised are used to help with needs in the area.   For example, each December the club fills and distributes boxes with food to provide a healthy meal for around 20 families.   The club has purchased fuel and paid electric bills for other families or individuals. In addition to these type donations, the club also grants scholarships for students heading off to college.

Blue Country

This year’s music festival has a great line-up of local musicians:

Adam Church, The High Country Boomers, Junulaska Choir, New Covenant, Amantha Mill, and Blue Country.
