LifeStore Bank to ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ on Wednesday June 20, 2018 at F.A.R.M. Café

On Wednesday June 20, between 11 AM and 2 PM, all are welcome to join F.A.R.M. (Feed All Regardless of Means) Café at 617 West King Street as LifeStore Bank sponsors a ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ event. In sponsoring this event LifeStore has covered the café’s basic cost of operation on Wednesday. As is the case with F.A.R.M. Café’s regular lunch service, patrons will utilize the ‘donate-what-you-can’ model. Because of LifeStore’s generous support, each and every donation from patrons will be put to use by the café in its mission to fight food insecurity in the High Country.
This is LifeStore’s first time sponsoring a ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ event, but their partnership with F.A.R.M. Café began a little over a year ago. According to Renee Boughman, Founder and Executive Chef at F.A.R.M. Café, “We like the local roots and personal touch at LifeStore Bank. When LifeStore employees Cindy Gore and Brian Greer stopped by the café, I learned that LifeStore offered an interest-bearing checking account for non-profits. Nobody else is doing that, so it was a no brainer for us to bank with them.”
As stated on their web-site (golifestore.com), LifeStore is recognized as a strong community partner, receiving
the Goveror’s Award for Volunteerism in 2016. In sponsoring a “Buy Boone Lunch” event LifeStore
employees will spend Wednesday volunteering with the F.A.R.M. Café team, working to feed all regardless of

F.A.R.M. Café is a non-profit, pay-what-you-can community kitchen that builds a healthy and inclusive community. It provides high quality and delicious meals produced from local sources when available, served in a restaurant where everybody eats, regardless of means. The Cafe is open for lunch Monday-Friday 11 AM to 2 PM. For more information on F.A.R.M. Cafe and its mission to fight food insecurity in the High Country please visit the website at Farmcafe.org.
