Dear Editor,
First, I would like to extend my thanks to the citizens of Blowing Rock who voted for me for mayor on November 3d.
Secondly, congratulations to Mayor J.B. Lawrence on his 10th term as mayor of Blowing Rock.
Finally, I hope the elected officials in our fine town will focus on some or all the issues that I brought to the table during my campaign.
- More interest and involvement in the 321 project.
- Earlier completion of the project
- Plan in place for development of property along the corridor
- Additional traffic lights placed at South Main and 321 as well as a seasonal traffic light at Green Hill and 321
- Return of 911 service and support services to Blowing Rock
- A presence in the BR police dept. on weekends
- Some or all of the 911 service returned to BR
- Med Transport located at our emergency services building
Increased involvement by city officials striving for completion of Stage One of the Middle Fork Greenway, especially considering the state’s allocation of $171,000 in October for the Blowing Rock section of the Middle Fork Greenway.
Development of a master plan for tax incentives for business in the town of Blowing Rock.
In closing, as citizens of Blowing Rock we should strive to protect our past and to build for our towns future.
