LETTERS / So Middle Class Voter, You Think Paul Ryan Is On Your Side

Dear Editor,

Before you start singing praises about how wonderful Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Paul Ryan will be for the Middle Class and working Americans, consider his voting record in Congress. He consistently casts votes against Middle Class interests. For example, this year Mr. Ryan voted against the “Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012”. Last year, he voted against the “Establishing the budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2012 – People’s Budget amendment” act. He voted against Middle Class interests in every bill. In 2009, he voted against the “Wall Street Accountability and Consumer Protection Act” designed to rein in deceptive advertising by big financial institutions and unfair practices by payday loan sharks. He also voted against the “Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act” which included funds for programs to encourage students to complete college and obtain subsequent employment. He also voted against the “Helping Families Save Their Homes Act” and the “Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act” to name a few. Mr. Ryan consistently receives an “F” rating voting on bills that would support the Middle Class. Any Middle Class and Working Class voter who thinks Mr. Ryan will represent their interests as Vice President should think again!
