Lees-McRae Experiences Record Enrollment for Fall 2015 Jumps 10 Percent to 1,034

As higher education institutions continue to face stiff competition from both traditional and alternative learning programs, Lees-McRae College is pleased to report record enrollment growth for the 2015-16 academic year. Student numbers jumped 10%, from 940 in fall 2014 to 1,034 this fall.

LMC“What an exciting time at Lees-McRae College,” remarked Vice President for Enrollment and Communications Ginger Hansen. “We are thrilled to celebrate the success of Lees-McRae in a very competitive environment. Enrolling more than 1,000 students is a major milestone in the College’s history.”

Enrollment numbers have been steadily increasing over the past several years as the College saw 6% growth for both fall 2013 and fall 2014, and 10% growth during spring 2015. Both main campus and extended and online programs grew this fall, with the online program doubling in size in just two years since its inception.

Fall 2015 is also a significant semester for the College as the inaugural class of nursing students begin their program of study in the new May School of Nursing and Health Sciences, which houses Nursing, Athletic Training and Emergency Medical Services and Management (EMSM). Since the announcement about the opening of the May School, enrollment in these three programs has grown by more than 100 students.
