Dec. 31, 2014. It may still be wintertime, but Lees-McRae College already has great things in store for the High Country community for the upcoming summer months. The highly-anticipated 2015 lineup of the annual Lees-McRae Summer Theatre has officially been announced, and the 2015 summer season is sure to be yet another great year of theatrical treats.
The 2015 season will open on June 26, with Lees-McRae Summer Theatre’s production of Oliver!, the award-winning musical about Oliver Twist. The dates for the show are June 26 through July 3. Showtimes will be at 7 p.m. on June 26, 27 & 30 and July 1 and 2. The show will have matinee times at 2 p.m. on June 28 and July 3, according to a press release from Lees-McRae Summer Theatre.
Next up is Lend Me a Tenor, an award-winning farce that will debut in the Hayes Auditorium stage July 13-19. The showtimes are 7 p.m. on July 15, 16, 17 and 18, and matinee showings will be played at 2 p.m. on July 16, 17, 18 and 19.
Finally, The Denim King will round out the season Aug. 1-7. The show was the largest grossing production for the Blowing Rock Stage Company when it produced the show and it is listed as an original musical about Moses Cone. Showtimes for The Denim King will be 7 p.m. on Aug. 1, 4, 5 and 6 and 2 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2 and 7.
