Lane Closures Suspended on U.S. 321 Widening Project in Blowing Rock for Fourth of July Holiday Weekend

July 3, 2014. To improve traffic flow this holiday weekend, the N.C. Department of Transportation is limiting construction operations along the U.S. 321 widening project in Blowing Rock.

There will be no lane closures associated with the U.S. 321 widening project from Thursday July 3 at 6 a.m. through Tuesday July 8 at 6 p.m. During this time, crews from contractor Maymead will be working on the project, but the work won’t require any lane or road closures.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and stay alert when driving through project construction. The speed limit along the U.S. 321 widening project is 35 mph, and the N.C. State Highway Patrol will be monitoring that corridor for violations.

For more information about the U.S. 321 widening project, call the project information line at (828) 964-3260 on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that the project information line will not be available on Friday July 4.
