If you are spending the Thanksgiving Weekend in the High Country and will be on U.S. 321 in the area of the widening project in Blowing Rock, the N.C. Department of Transportation will help your road trip a bit. No lane closures will take place through the project until at least 8 a.m. on Monday.
You may see construction crews in the area during that time, but their work should not impact traffic flow. Even so, with high holiday traffic volume expected, motorists are reminded to stay alert and obey the speed limit of 35 mph through the U.S. 321 corridor in Blowing Rock.
For more information about the project, please call its information line at (828) 964-3260 on Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The line will be closed for the holiday on Nov. 26-27. You can also follow the project’s progress with regular updates on Twitter using the hashtag #US321.
