Tickets are still available for the Kool and the Gang performance this Saturday July 7th!
Two time Grammy Award winners, Kool and the Gang is an upbeat R&B group that has been performing for 45 years. Ronald Bell and his brother Robert “Kool” Bell joined up with their friends, Robert “Spike” Mickens, Dennis “Dee Tee” Thomas, Ricky Westfield, George Brown, and Charles Smith, to start a band that was a distinct mix of jazz, soul, and funk. They’ve gone on to become legends, and earned many prestigious awards, with their theme of “Music is the message”
An Appalachian Summer Festival managed to get this sensational group to perform at the Convocation Center, right in Boone! The tickets are $50, $40 for students and children, and there are still plenty available.
After 5 p.m., parking is free everywhere on campus, and doors to the event open at 6:30 p.m. Come out to the Convocation Center for this unique opportunity to listen to legendary music!
