June 6, 2013. The town of Todd is inviting citizens of the High Country to come out and catch the buzz of the biweekly Music at the Park, where the King Bees will be playing this weekend. Cook Park, located on Railroad Grade Road, hosts the talented two-member American roots, rhythm and blues band this Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.

kingbeesKing Bees is a unique band that has played all over the world, from Deep South juke-joints to European festivals to New York’s impressive Lincoln Center. Penny Zamagni is the singer and bassist, while Rob Baskerville is the guitarist.

“This year we’re really excited to have the King Bees,” said Helen Barnes-Rielly, board member of Todd Community Preservation Organization (TCPO).

Members of the TCPO are firing up the grill to make hot dogs and hamburgers to enjoy with chips and soda. Chairs and blankets are recommended, and listeners are welcome to bring their own food if they wish.

T-shirts, water bottles and various other items will be sold by TCPO.

The free event will go on rain or shine, however if there is enough notice the show will be moved to the Todd Mercantile.
