July 21, 2014. The King Bees, who are described as “international recording artists [who] rocked their blues from Mississippi juke joints to New York City’s Lincoln Center to European festival stages,” performed before an enthusiastic crowd in the Concerts in the Park series in Blowing Rock on Sunday.

The free outdoor concerts in Memorial Park in downtown Blowing Rock always take place on Sunday afternoons following Art in the Park from May through September. As a whole, the series provides a variety of music and entertainers each season. Past genres that audiences have enjoyed include blues, pop, classic country, traditional bagpipes and more.

Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blank to enjoy the show. The shows start at 4 p.m.

The remaining dates for the 2014 Concerts in the Park series are Aug. 17 with Mountain Radio, a bluegrass band, and Sept. 7 with Amantha Mill, versed in mountain music.
